Music River Journey
Bill Dvorak’s Kayak/Rafting Expeditions
7-8
days, Dolores River (Colorado) or Green River (Utah)
This annual trip is
"River Rafting in Classic Style". The river journey includes
chamber music performances given by a Santa Fe Symphony flutist and a
string quartet from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. These individuals will
play the viola, violin, cello, flute and guitars to provide music that
will touch the mind and soul. Often surpassing the concert hall setting,
the alpine forests and ancient sandstone caverns along these spectacular
rivers redefine the musical experience of the works of Mozart, Bach,
Handel, Beethoven, Quantz, Kodaly, Ravel, Hindmith and Dvorak. Also
included on the trip are impromptu reading sessions, open rehearsals and
improvised solos on wood flute.
Multiday Rafting For
Women Only
Sheri Griffith River Expeditions
4-5 days, Green River
(Utah)
"
Women-only adventure travel is more than a girl's night out...There's no
better place or time to discover that your better half is not the one
you left behind, but the one you found within."
Carole Jacobs, Shape Magazine,
after participating in Women at Play on the Colorado River
Women-Only
trips offer the opportunity to discover our selves, each other and the
world around us without the self-imposed restrictions that are present
in everyday life. The shields and armors that we wrap ourselves in for
our daily existence are dropped at trip's beginning as we discover what
it's like to just be ourselves and play like we did when we were little
girls. Although the focus of the trips vary by group and itinerary, the
results are the same: a rare respite, a memorable journey without
judgment. And no experience necessary.—Sheri Griffith

better than an overnight trip on West Virginia's best rivers, the New

wonderful memories are what you will find. What you won't find are
phones, beepers, pagers, email, or music. Wait! Why not bring four
excellent musicians to play knee slapping, foot stomping music. Class VI
has scheduled an overnight with music on the New River in late-July and
on the Gauley River in mid-October 2000. The Trusty House Band has four
members who play a stand up bass, guitar, banjo, and mandolin. They are
known as the hottest conta dance band in West Virginia and are
guaranteed to have you clapping your hands and stomping your feet way
into the night. But don't stay up too late because there will be more
whitewater the next day. Join us for an experience you wont forget.
