| The lower Stanislaus
River, between the Goodwin Canyon Dam and Knight's Ferry, is a very
challenging Class III-IV+ whitewater stretch. Goodwin Canyons gorges
varied terrain and geologic formations including Table Mountain,
deep granite canyons, and rolling foothills. Technical Class IV+
rapids in the canyons include Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Pinballs, and
Haunted House. Other canyon attractions are its wildlife and the
site of a gold-rush town destroyed by floods.
