The historic Yellowstone River is an almost 680-mile (1,088-km) free-flowing tributary of the Missouri River. It is rafted just north of Yellowstone National Park's Mammoth Hot Springs entrance in southwest Montana. For some 25 miles (40 km) below the Gardiner put-in, the exciting Class II-III waters of upper Paradise Valley and Yankee Jim Canyon attract of thousands of rafters to the same canyons that were visited by early Indians and trappers.

The outfitter offers both half- and full-day raft trips on the Yellowstone. Full-day trips, which cover nearly 17 miles (27 km), allow time for relaxation and swimming. Visitors with less time can consider two- to three-hour trips. There is still plenty of whitewater and time to enough the beautiful scenery. Either paddle- or oar-guided raft trips on the Yellowstone are an excellent introduction to whitewater for families, senior citizens, and other first-time rafters. When requested, the outfitter offers scenic float trips on calmer stretches of the Yellowstone River.
