Nestled amidst the majestic Pacific coast mountain ranges of northern British Columbia, the Babine River offers a superb five- or six-day adventure featuring hiking, camping and river rafting in an isolated wilderness environment. Beginning at Nilkitkwa Lake, 60 miles (95 km) of the Babine flows in view of the Babine and Atna mountain ranges.
The first four days of Babine's multiday raft trips include several Class III rapids and numerous opportunities to photograph the unspoiled wilderness and its eagles, moose, and grizzly bears. On day five, rafters journey through a narrow, steep-walled canyon that creates the Babine's most exciting Class IV whitewater. Guests frequently see grizzlies feeding on salmon during the stretch. The final day is spent floating the larger Skeena River to the take-out at Kispiox Indian Village.
