The Green River, in the
Whistler region of southwest British Columbia, gives visitors to
Garibaldi Provincial Park an opportunity to experience whitewater
rafting and still have time to enjoy the parks many other
attractions. The Green's easy, fun-filled rapids with its panorama
of stunning snowcapped peaks make this a memorable recreational
experience.
On
the placid waters of Green Lake, just 5 miles (8 km) from Whistler
Village, rafters have an opportunity to practice and synchronize
their paddle strokes before starting the downriver voyage. The
4.5-mile (7-km) Green River raft trip is a favorite with Canadian as
well as foreign visitors. Many of the guides are able to provide
basic paddle raft commands in Japanese and other languages.
